The foundation of Glocaloca was based on a simple question:

What is the core of communities?

The answer is: It’s a common ground of the members. As Glocaloca was always intended as a global community in a local area, it was clear that the boundaries cannot be related to age, religion, or ethnicity. Because diversity is including all of them. In contrast to housing bubbles, we create spaces for a global community. While we are not focussing on the outside of people, we focus on an open mind and respect towards others. Who creates global communities has to be able to create environments with empathy towards the tenants. Tenants are not the business. The business consists of providing the right services to them. Asking for their needs, listening to daily issues, and observing well the opportunities for improvement.

So, the common ground of members is beyond the standard categories. It more includes curiosity and exploration, readiness for the challenge, and open-minded behavior. The common ground can be in searching for a living place where to find new mates for the adventure of life, the working together, the sharing events and experiences. The glue between these activities is called empathy. Empathy for the other, welcoming new ideas, motivating each other, fostering talents, learning from neighbors. Empathy is not a business, but it is the starting point of all relationships, also those ones that are based on a pay-for-service relationship. GLOCALOCA creates that kind of environment that allows people for having a secure private space and at the same time share interests with others in daily life and on request. Just as one prefers.
