- Study and Live
There are two categories of students. Some are looking for knowledge, study day and night, and take their studies seriously like highly professional work. The others are looking for experiences and do not miss any opportunity to meet new people and build a network. Both groups have successful graduates and become later equally successful academics.
There are also two categories of living for students. There are those who, also because they do not have the necessary financial resources, are more likely to look for cheap housing. They endure that they live in places that offer no quality of infrastructure. With furniture that nobody wants. With neighbors, nobody doesn’t really want to meet. The students consider it normal to live in precarious rooms with the shower in the kitchen or where the bathroom is so small that you can shower, brush your teeth, and do other things without moving. Nevertheless, they sometimes pay excessive rental prices on the assumption that there are no alternatives.
The second category of students in residential situations are those who have no problem paying excessive rents, who already show their status during their student lives, who can afford even housekeepers and can live in privileged areas with sports centers and green spaces, can use leisure activities and in trendy areas Cafés to write their thesis.
Do these two worlds really have to exist? Could there be solutions that are interesting for both groups? Could there even be solutions that can offer even more?
Before we can answer this question, let’s take a quick look at the housing market in Seoul. There does not seem to be a lack of offers. There are enough apartments and so-called villas, smaller apartment buildings, are always available. Of course, there are dormitories and small residence units for students on the campuses. However, these are more acceptable because of the proximity to the university. Partly strict rules prevent a student’s private life.
Housing in Seoul is expensive and difficult to find. Many students, especially foreigners, report in forums that they have often had negative experiences. Because apartments are displayed, but as soon as foreigners are interested, these apartments are suddenly no longer available. Communication is also difficult; the pricing is very different from that in the country of origin and the possibility of comparing prices and services is very limited.
Even if the enrollment at the university went smoothly and nothing stands in the way of the study adventure, the search for the right apartment is always a great challenge.
That is why GLOCALOCA has worked on special solutions to bring together also all of the interests of students. The right balance between price and performance is guaranteed if the prices are clearly consistent with the services. Students want a choice. Both in terms of location and content. Who says students don’t ask for extra services that are even included? Anyone who learns also wants to eat well and/or be active, do sports, meet people, date, have new experiences, or just have the perfect learning infrastructure.
We offer attractive living spaces with even more attractive services at many locations in Seoul. Because student life doesn’t have to be spartan. Everyone can live privileged and proudly tell others about it.
